I’m back! Oh yeah, I’m SOOOO back! I have my laptop up and running again thanks to my amazing husband who was able to install a new hard drive, re-load my operating system, and get my wireless card functioning again, thus saving us about $160. And did I mention he’s hot? Sorry ladies, he’s taken.
My computer is naked at the moment, because I haven’t reinstalled all my software, but the important this is I have the internet, right? Which means blogging, just without pictures for the moment because Photoshop is one of those discs sitting around waiting to be loaded. I hope all my readers haven’t deserted me.
I have a backlog of posts racing around in my head so I figured I would start off with a marathon update…haha get it? Running around in my head? Ahem…
20 miler was completed last weekend and I can’t express the joy in my soul that I won’t have to do that again until race day! I have what I call a “trick knee”, which means my left knee randomly decides to start hurting while I’m trying to cover mucho long distances, and it reared its ugly head at about mile 10. Lovely. My goal was to start run/walking at 14 to finish off strong, after about a mile of enduring the pain I had to start early. I also ended up walking most of the last three miles. It ended up taking about 4:19. BOOOOO! Not the time I was looking for.
The scary thing is that I’m still having pain in it. I’ve been running steadily for several years now, and you tend to become very well acquainted with your body’s various aches and pains and how to handle them. I made it through my 12 miler this past weekend, but this has been a different pain that doesn’t seem to want to go away. I’ve been icing and icing and I’m having a physical therapist take a peek at it tonight.
If you think about it, please pray for healing, because it’s going to be rough trying making it 26.2 miles with a bum knee.
The one bright spot is that we’re continuing with our taper so I only have 6 miles waiting for me this weekend!
